Never been…you are missing out!
Unfamiliar with a BBQ competition? Well its pretty awesome and a great time! Most of our events are sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbque Society with a specific set of rules. Let’s look at the high points.
So what’s it all about?
Well my team and I get there early Friday morning and start setting up. Each team must have their meat inspected…stop snickering. After that happens we finish the prepping by rubbing and marinading everything. Once were ready to go that’s the time we can have some fun. Cooking doesn’t really start until 10pm so we some time to party just a bit!
Saturday is the big day, judging normally begins at noon. Each category’s turn in is spaced out by thirty minutes. Finally, awards is usually around 3:30.
